FORT HOOD, Texas – A 1st Cavalry Division Soldier died following a vehicle rollover incident at Fort Hood during training Sept. 14. A second Soldier was injured and is receiving medical care.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our First Team Soldier,” said Brig. Gen. Ethan Diven, acting commanding general, 1st Cavalry Division. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Trooper’s family, loved ones, and teammates. The 1st Cavalry Division is steadfast in supporting them through this difficult time.”

The identity of the deceased Soldier is being withheld until 24-hours after notification of next of kin is complete.

No additional information regarding the injured Soldier is being released at this time.

The incident is under investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
