FORT HOOD, Texas – The “Freedom Trucks” mobile museum tour will visit the National Mounted Warrior Museum, March 18-21, bringing the story of American independence to the community for the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Public viewing hours are from 1-5 p.m. March 18 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 19-21.
The tour features six traveling museums with engaging content for all ages, including digital quizzes and an opportunity to sign the Declaration of Independence. The exhibits tell the extraordinary story of how the 13 colonies secured American sovereignty 250 years ago.
“Understanding our nation’s heritage is foundational to military service,” said Brig. Gen. Geoff Van Epps, III Armored Corps Deputy Commanding General – Maneuver. “The Freedom Truck exhibit offers a direct connection to that history. We welcome the entire community to participate and to take an opportunity to explore the National Mounted Warrior Museum, which chronicles our own vital chapter in the American story.”
The Fort Hood visit is part of the national Freedom 250 initiative, which includes hundreds of events throughout 2026 to celebrate America’s heritage. For more information on the Freedom 250 initiative and a full calendar of events, please visit https://freedom250.org/events-calendar.
