FORT HOOD, Texas – III Armored Corps will provide escort to the 36th Engineer Brigade’s demonstration of the Machine Assisted Rugged Soldier (MARS) program showcasing the future of combat engineering on March 5.
The 36th Engineer Brigade continues to build on the MARS program. This iteration will be focused on integrating robotic systems into military operations to enhance combat capabilities while permitting Army Soldiers to operate from a safer distance. The program enables machines to occupy combat positions in the front lines, leveraging technology to perform dangerous tasks.
Fort Hood is at the forefront of Army modernization, serving as a critical proving ground for emerging technologies.
The insights and lessons learned from this event will be instrumental in shaping how armored formations across the Army approach breaching and large-scale combat operations in future conflicts, with a primary focus on increasing soldier survivability and effectiveness on the battlefield.
Media interested in covering the demonstration must RSVP here by 3 p.m. March 4. An escort will be provided for media, meeting at 9:45 a.m. March 5 in the south-side parking lot of the Marvin Leath Visitor Center.
