FORT HOOD, Texas – A flash flood watch has been issued for Fort Hood and surrounding areas due to sustained heavy rainfall. All personnel are urged to exercise extreme caution and avoid low-lying areas, underpasses, and roadways prone to flooding.

All tactical low water crossings are closed.

Avoid walking or driving through standing water as it is difficult to determine just how deep it is. Seek higher ground if you are in a flood-prone location. Installation emergency management teams are monitoring conditions and will provide further instructions as needed.

Turn around, don’t drown.
