FORT HOOD, Texas – For active-duty service members, military retirees and their families across Central Texas, Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center serves as a trusted source of comprehensive healthcare and support services.
CRDAMC provides primary care, specialty care, emergency services, inpatient treatment and preventive health programs designed to keep the military community healthy and mission ready. Through its hospital, on-post clinics and community-based medical homes located throughout the region the medical center supports approximately 83,000 TRICARE beneficiaries. Active-duty Soldiers receive care through Soldier-Centered Medical Homes and readiness programs, while retirees and family members can access Community Based Medical Homes for routine and acute medical care.
Families benefit from a wide range of services including well-child visits, women’s health care, immunizations, chronic disease management, mental health services and specialty referrals. Patients who require advanced care may be referred to specialty clinics within the CRDAMC health system or to TRICARE network providers.
CRDAMC’s Emergency Department operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing urgent and emergency medical care for eligible beneficiaries when immediate treatment is needed.
In addition to medical services, CRDAMC offers resources that help beneficiaries navigate their healthcare needs. These include Patient Advocacy, Beneficiary Services, Referral Management, the Exceptional Family Member Program, pharmacy services and the Military Health System Nurse Advice Line. Beneficiaries are also encouraged to keep their Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System information current to ensure uninterrupted access to care and benefits.
