For Immediate Release
FORT HOOD, Texas – Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center will host its annual Walk to Remember and butterfly release at the Sadowski Parade Field track Oct. 19 at 6 p.m.
Attendees should gather at the stadium seating area. Families will have the opportunity to release their butterflies along the walking trail after the official portion of the program.
Hosted by CRDAMC’s Department of Ministry and Pastoral Care, the event offers comfort, compassion and spiritual support to parents and loved ones who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss.
Held annually in observance of National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month in October, the event raises awareness of the challenges families face following miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or neonatal death.
The program will feature speakers sharing words of encouragement and support, followed by a butterfly release honoring the babies who have died. The symbolic release provides an opportunity for remembrance, reflection and healing.
The Walk to Remember is open to all Fort Hood Soldiers, family members, CRDAMC employees, retirees and community members who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, as well as those who wish to show their support for grieving families.
