FORT HOOD, Texas – The 36th Engineer Brigade will be conducting essential training with Mine Clearing Line Charges (MICLICs) March 7-8. This activity will include both inert and live demolitions, resulting in loud noises and temporary closures of several roads and training areas.
One Inert MICLIC will be used from 10 a.m. until noon March 7. During this time, all tank trails in Training Areas 16, 20, 22 and 23 will be closed.
Two live MICLICs will be detonated from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. March 8. This will necessitate the closure of East Range Road from Mile Marker 9 to Triple A Road, along with all tank trails in the vicinity. Unit personnel will post road guards at all critical access points to ensure the areas are secure during the live-fire event.
Residents on and around Fort Hood may hear increased noise during the scheduled training window. Fort Hood officials emphasize that all operations are carefully planned and coordinated to ensure the safety of service members and the surrounding community.
All installation personnel and visitors who may work in or travel through these training areas are requested to remain clear of the specified locations during the posted times. Individuals are reminded not to enter restricted training areas at any time and to report any unexploded ordnance or suspicious objects by calling 911 or the Fort Hood Directorate of Emergency Services.
Fort Hood regularly conducts training exercises to maintain readiness while working closely with local communities to minimize disruptions. This training is vital to maintaining soldier readiness and ensuring our forces are prepared for any mission. We thank the community for their continued support and understanding.
