UPDATE 1: This update is for religious service cancellations, dining facility schedules, fitness centers closing and child and youth services schedules.
FORT HOOD, Texas – With the closing of the post, several agencies adjusted hours and cancelled activities for Monday Jan. 26 including physical fitness center closing, religious program cancellations and child youth service adjustments.
The Fort Hood Senior Commander closed the post Monday, Jan. 26 due to inclement weather and freezing temperatures. Only mission essential personnel should report for the duty. Contract personnel should contact their supervisors for specific reporting instructions.
Child and Youth Services (CYS):
Meadows Child Development Center (approved within the last 12 months) for Child Development Center and School Age Care will open for mission-essential personnel at 5:30 a.m.
All other CYS childcare facilities and offices will be closed.
All scheduled Religious Service Offices services are cancelled.
The food security program and food pantry at the Spirit of Fort Hood Chapel will be closed.
Dining Facilities:
The Patriot Dining Facility, Theodore Roosevelt Dining Facility and Operation Iraqi Freedom Dining Facility will be open 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 5 – 6:30 p.m.
The Phantom Fresh Dining Facility will be open 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The Always Ready Dining Facility will open from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. with Soldiers able to pick up prepared meals for dinner during the lunch service.
All physical fitness centers are closed.
The Clear Creek (Main) Exchange will be closed. The III Corps Express remains open 24 hours.

Both commissaries on post will be closed. For the latest Commissary hours, visit Clear Creek Commissary or call 254-406-9000, or Warrior Way Commissary or call 254-683-6250.
All units will cancel physical training for the morning, and road guards will not be posted at intersections during this time. Roads will remain open during the usual PT hours of 6 to 7:30 a.m.
The Marvin Leath Visitors Center will be closed Jan. 26 and will re-open at 5 a.m. Jan. 27.
The Cavazos Connector will not be in operation.
The Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center emergency room operations, labor and delivery and inpatient services will not be affected and will remain open. Soldiers and families should check with their local school districts regarding closures. For information about Killeen Independent School District on-post schools, visit the Killeen Independent School District’s website.
All personnel are advised to call ahead for scheduled appointments at on-post agencies, such as the ID card office.
All personnel should use caution while driving on area roads, especially on overpasses and while walking on sidewalks and entryways to buildings.
