FORT HOOD, Texas – Fort Hood will host the annual Remembrance Memorial Display from May 21-26 at Sadowski Field in front of the III Armored Corps Headquarters building.
More than 7,700 boots will line the field to honor service members, from all military branches, who have died since Sept. 11, 2001. A photo of each fallen service member will be placed in the boots.
Military working dogs that died in combat operations will also be recognized.
The event is free and open to the public. Visitors without Department of War identification cards must obtain a pass at the Marvin Leath Visitor’s Center on T.J. Mills Boulevard before entering Fort Hood.
Media interested in covering the event should contact the Fort Hood Media Relations team at 254-449-5298. A Fort Hood public affairs representative will meet media members at the Marvin Leath Visitor’s Center at a coordinated time and escort them to the Remembrance Memorial Display.
