FORT HOOD, Texas – III Armored Corps and Fort Hood will host a barracks demolition ceremony at 9 a.m. July 8 at Building 10006, Veterans Avenue.
Command Sgt. Maj. John P. McDwyer, III Armored Corps and Fort Hood command sergeant major, alongside Soldiers, garrison leadership and key project planners, will participate in the event. The ceremony marks a critical milestone in the modernization of post infrastructure.
The removal of the legacy barracks reflects III Armored Corps’ and Fort Hood’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of life for Soldiers and families stationed at “The Great Place” by ensuring access to updated, comfortable and modernized facilities.

A public affairs representative will meet media personnel in the southside parking lot of the Marvin Leath Visitor Center at 8:15 a.m. July 8 for an escort to the site.
