FORT HOOD, Texas – Emergency response officials at Fort Hood will conduct their annual full-scale exercise from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 5-6 at various locations across the installation.
The joint exercise will involve installation first responders working alongside local law enforcement to rehearse response and recovery operations during a simulated, real-world disaster scenario. The annual training is designed to stress critical emergency management elements, including command and control, mass warning and notifications, community awareness, and the coordinated actions of first responders and receivers.
Additional focus areas include medical response, religious support, and family assistance.
Traffic disruptions are expected to be minimal, though short delays may occur near exercise sites due to temporary traffic control measures. In the event of an actual emergency, all exercise activities will immediately cease so personnel can respond accordingly.
