FORT HOOD, Texas — The Fort Hood Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation will host Fort Hood Fight Night: Championship at 6 p.m. Dec. 12 at Abrams Physical Fitness Center.
The event will feature seven championship bouts with active-duty Soldiers from units across the installation. Each bout will include three two-minute rounds, with winners crowned in their respective weight classes to represent Fort Hood against the other III Armored Corps installation champions in the summer.
Adding to the atmosphere, the USA Cheerleaders will perform throughout the evening. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
The event is open to anyone with installation access. Doors open at 5 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to arrive early. Civilians without a Department of Defense ID card may obtain a visitor pass at the Marvin Leath Visitor Center.
Fighter weigh-ins are scheduled for 8 a.m. Dec. 11 in the west atrium of the III Armored Corps Headquarters.
In preparation for the event, all workout areas inside Abrams Physical Fitness Center will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 11. The facility, including the basketball court, will reopen at 6 a.m. Dec. 15.

Media covering weigh-ins should arrive by 7:30 a.m. Dec. 11 at the south-side parking lot of the Marvin Leath Visitor Center for escort by a public affairs representative.
Media covering the championship bouts should arrive by 5:30 p.m. Dec. 12 at the same location for escort to the event site.
