Troopers from the 1st Cavalry Division showcased exceptional skill at the first annual U.S. Army Best Drone Warfighter Competition. Sgt. Javon Purchner led the field, outperforming top drone pilots from across the Army in a series of demanding technical challenges to earn the title of Best Drone Operator.
The division’s Hunter/Killer and Innovation teams also earned recognition for pioneering new approaches to target detection and engagement using unmanned systems. Their achievements highlight the division’s commitment to advancing drone capabilities and shaping the future of unmanned warfare.
