FORT HOOD, Texas – Central Texas residents are advised that the 6-56 Air Defense Artillery Regiment will be conducting a live-fire training exercise from May 3-8.
The exercise will involve the firing of Stinger missiles at aerial targets. Live-fire operations are scheduled to occur between 10 a.m and 7 p.m. daily from May 4 to May 7.
For the safety of the public and military personnel, the training area and all surrounding ranges within the designated Surface Danger Zone will be closed to all unauthorized personnel for the duration of the event, and road guards will be in place to secure the area. Residents may also notice an increase in military vehicle traffic.
The following road closures will be in effect daily 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. May 4-7:
• Portions of East Range Road and West Range Road
• Portions of Royalty Ridge Road to the intersection with West Range Road
• Portions of Browns Creek Road to the intersection with West Range Road
• Portions of Manning Mountain Road to the intersection with West Range Road
All personnel are advised to remain clear of the restricted areas and follow the instructions of the road guards and military authorities.
