FORT HOOD, Texas – The 1st Cavalry Division will host its annual CAV Week celebrating 105 Years of service to America from August 31 to September 3, 2026, on Fort Hood. The following media coverage opportunities are available.
CAV Week begins Monday, Aug. 31, with a four-mile Division Run beginning at 6:30 a.m. The run will feature support from the 1st Cavalry Division Band, a DIVARTY cannon salute and a 1st Air Cavalry Brigade flyover.
Media opportunities continue Tuesday, Sept. 1, with a Boxing Tournament and Assault Kitchen Tailgate Cook-Off. On Wednesday, Sept. 2, featured opportunities include boxing, weightlifting and the Two-Gun Competition.
CAV Week concludes Thursday, Sept. 3, with the Battalion Command Team Competition and the CAV 105 Ceremony, Awards Ceremony and Cake Cutting. The CAV 105 Ceremony begins at 9:00 a.m. on Cooper Field and will recognize competition winners and celebrate the Division’s 105th birthday and First Team traditions. Additional Thursday events may be available for media coverage as coordinated.
