FORT HOOD, Texas – Due to freezing temperatures and hazardous road conditions, the Fort Hood senior commander has authorized delayed reporting for personnel Jan. 28.
The Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center emergency room operations, labor and delivery and inpatient services will not be affected and will remain open. All appointments scheduled prior to 9 a.m on Jan. 28 will be rescheduled. For medical updates, visit the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center Facebook page.

Mission essential personnel should report to work at their normal duty times. All other Department of the Army civilians are directed to report to work at 9 a.m., while Soldiers and Airmen are to report at 10 a.m. Contract personnel should contact their supervisor for specific reporting instructions.
Liberal leave policy is in effect. DA civilian employees should contact their supervisor regarding requested leave.
All units will cancel physical training and no road guards will man intersections on post during that time period.
Child and Youth Services (CYS):
Meadows Child Development Center, including school-age care, will open at 5:30 a.m. for mission-essential personnel who have been approved to use mission-essential childcare services within the last 12 months.
All other CYS childcare facilities and offices will open at 8 a.m.
All physical fitness centers, except for previously identified 24-hour unmanned facilities, will open at 9 a.m.
Dining Facilities:
The Patriot Dining Facility, Theodore Roosevelt Dining Facility and Operation Iraqi Freedom Dining Facility will be open 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 5 – 6:30 p.m.
The Phantom Fresh Dining Facility will be open 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The Always Ready Dining Facility will open from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. with Soldiers able to pick up prepared meals for dinner during the lunch service.

All personnel are encouraged to call ahead for other on-post agency appointments such as identification cards or the Central Issue Facility.
All personnel are reminded to exercise caution while driving, especially on overpasses, and while walking on sidewalks and entryways to buildings as icy conditions may linger.
