FORT HOOD, Texas – All tactical low water crossings at Fort Hood are currently closed due to safety concerns following recent weather conditions.
Installation officials made the decision to close the crossings after increased water levels and hazardous conditions were observed across training areas. The closures are in effect immediately and will remain in place until conditions improve and the crossings can be safely reopened.
Motorists and personnel are advised to avoid all low water crossings and to use designated paved routes. Attempting to cross flooded or compromised areas can result in serious injury or damage to vehicles. Turn around, don’t drown.
Emergency services and installation leadership continue to monitor conditions and will provide updates as necessary.
For the latest information, personnel should follow the Fort Hood Media Center and Fort Hood Facebook.
