FORT CAVAZOS (Now designated Fort Hood), Texas — III Armored Corps and FORT CAVAZOS (Now designated Fort Hood) will host a “Carry the Load Rally” at 9:30 a.m. May 22 at the 1st Cavalry Division Horse Detachment.
Carry the Load is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring members of the military, law enforcement, firefighters, rescue personnel, and their families. The organization leads annual relay walks and bike rides from the West Coast, Midwest and East Coast, culminating in Dallas over Memorial Day weekend.
The FORT CAVAZOS (Now designated Fort Hood) rally will include a color guard presentation, the National Anthem, and a horse detachment demonstration.
Featured speakers include FORT CAVAZOS (Now designated Fort Hood) Garrison Commander, Col. Lakicia Stokes, Carry the Load Ambassador, Colton Morrow, and retired Lt. Gen. Paul Funk, former commanding general of III Armored Corps and FORT CAVAZOS (Now designated Fort Hood). Members of the local community are also expected to attend.

On the day of the event, media should arrive by 9 a.m. at the south-side parking lot of the Marvin Leath Visitors Center to be escorted by a public affairs representative to the event site.
