DALLAS – For the first time, III Armored Corps is offering Dallas-area media an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at training operations at Fort Hood. On Sept. 30, Army helicopters will transport a limited number of journalists from Dallas to Fort Hood and back in a single-day experience.
This unique opportunity will provide media with firsthand access to:
- Meet & Greet: Lt. Gen. Kevin D. Admiral, Commanding General, III Armored Corps and Fort Hood, will welcome media to The Great Place.
- Ride Like a Soldier: Media will travel around Fort Hood in a tactical vehicle to experience some of what Soldiers do each day.
- Immersive Training: Experience Army vehicle training simulators for the Abrams main battle tank and Bradley fighting vehicle.
- Dine with Soldiers: Eat at a Fort Hood dining facility alongside Soldiers.
- Live-Fire Demonstration: Witness live gunnery from a Bradley fighting vehicle.
- Aerial Views: Enjoy one-of-a-kind views of the Texas landscape from an Army helicopter during the roundtrip flight.
This is a rare opportunity to experience the capabilities of the U.S. Army and gain insight into the training that prepares Soldiers for global missions.
Event Details:
- Date: Sept. 30, 2025 (weather alternates: Oct. 1 or 2).
- Departure Location: Dallas Area (Details will be provided to confirmed media).
- Return Location: Same.
- Time: This is a full-day event. Confirmed media will depart in the early morning and return in the afternoon. A detailed itinerary and additional coordinating instructions will be provided to confirmed media.
Media Registration:
Due to extremely limited seating, media interested in participating must RSVP via the form below no later than Sept. 16, 2025. Individual outlets may request a maximum of two (2) seats. Seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Confirmation of attendance will be sent to selected media. All participants will be required to sign a hold harmless release prior to the event.
