Fort Hood’s land area equals 218,823 acres or 342 square miles, roughly the size of New York City and all 5 boroughs. It stretches as far north as Gatesville, Texas; east to Temple, Texas; west to Copperas Cove, Texas; and south to Georgetown, Texas.
