FORT CAVAZOS (Now designated Fort Hood), Texas – FORT CAVAZOS (Now designated Fort Hood) hosts the annual Remembrance Memorial Display May 24-29 at Sadowski Field here. Each boot displayed represents a service member who has paid the ultimate price defending freedom.
More than 7,500 boots will line the display which memorializes service members that have lost their lives since Sept. 11, 2001. The boots along with a photo of each of the fallen will be on display at Sadowski Field, in front of the III Armored Corps Headquarters building.
The event is free and open to all. Any non-DoD identification cardholders who want to view the boot display must obtain a visitor’s pass at the Marvin Leath Visitors Center located on T.J. Mills Blvd.

A FORT CAVAZOS (Now designated Fort Hood) public affairs representative will meet media at the Marvin Leath Visitors Center at the coordinated time and escort the media member(s) to the Remembrance Boot Memorial.
